Life through a baseball lens
The WSC spans six generations of baseball fans sharing history with 6 wars; team integration in 1947; women members in the 70s; and, hosted more than 400 guest speakers from major/minor/local-league players, owners, executives, management, umpires, sports-writers, announcers, clergy, and a Baseball Hall of Fame librarian. Red Sox Hall of Famer and fan-favorite Johnny Pesky took the floor 8 times from 1951-2001, setting the record for WSC appearances.
2017
Dennis "oil-can" boyd
March 29, 2017: Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd's remarks included a very personal story about his family – multiple generations of professional baseball players – growing up in segregated Mississippi during the time of voter registration violence, and playing ball on an integrated team for the first time in 1980 as a Red Sox 16th-round amateur draft pick out of Jackson University.

Month XX, XXXX: Fake copy - In 1926 it was a Yankees vs Cardinals Series and some baseball-loving businessmen set their sites on the stadium. The Hartford "Boys of October" created their own hot-stove league, and the WSC was born. Today, our club invites baseball fans of all ages, sexes, and intensity to hear great stories from pros and to share their love of the game.
